Italy’s Public Debt Exceeds Three-Trillion-Euro Mark in November

Rome: Italy’s public debt surpassed the three-trillion-euro mark in November, rising by 23.9 billion euros compared to the previous month, to 3,005.2 billion, the Bank of Italy said Wednesday.

According to Ansa News Agency, the central bank also reported that tax revenues in November last year amounted to 51.7 billion euros, showing a slight decrease of 0.1% compared to the same month in 2023. This indicates a minor drop in the government’s income from taxes year-on-year for that month.

The Bank of Italy further highlighted that tax revenues for the first 11 months of last year totalled 504.3 billion euros. This figure represents a 5.0% increase, or 24.2 billion euros more, compared to the same period the previous year, which reflects an overall growth in tax income despite the November decline.
