Italy Ready to Deploy Troops in Gaza, Says Tajani

Rome: Italy is prepared to deploy troops to Gaza as part of an international stabilization effort, Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani announced on Wednesday. This declaration was made during a government reconstruction summit held at Palazzo Chigi in Rome.

According to Ansa News Agency, Tajani, who also serves as deputy premier, emphasized the need for unity among all political forces in the Italian parliament to support this initiative. He stated that Italy is willing to contribute soldiers to the International Stabilization Force as envisioned in the Trump plan.

Responses from Italian political parties were swift. The center-left Democratic Party (PD) expressed openness to the idea, with a representative stating, “We are ready to discuss whether there will be a UN mandate.” Meanwhile, Giuseppe Comte, leader of the left-wing 5-Star Movement (M5S), remarked that “Italy can play a role in peacekeeping with our military.”
