Italian Wine Exports Reach Record 8.1 Billion Euros with 5.5% Growth in 2024
Rome: Italian wine exports rose 5.5% to a record 8.1 billion euros last year, Farm Minister Francesco Lollobrigida said Tuesday. “In 2024, exports of our wine sector reached the record figure of 8.1 billion euros, with an increase of 5.5% compared to 2023,” the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forests wrote on his Facebook profile.
According to Ansa News Agency, Lollobrigida described the increase as an extraordinary achievement, highlighting the strength, quality, and competitiveness of Italian wine in the global market. He emphasized that Italian wine serves as an authentic ambassador of the “Made in Italy” brand worldwide. The minister stressed the importance of defending and promoting Italy’s excellence to protect the nation’s identity and wealth.
Lollobrigida further mentioned that the Meloni Government is committed to providing concrete tools to support Italian wine companies, aiming to strengthen their presence in international markets. He concluded by stating that Italian wine represents more than just a product; it embodies tradition, culture, and work, serving as a pillar of the national economy. The government is dedicated to ensuring that the wine sector continues to grow and establish itself globally.
