Italian Navy Frigate Approaches Global Sumud Flotilla Near Crete
Rome: The Italian Navy’s multi-purpose Fasan frigate has arrived in the area south of Crete where the Global Sumud Flotilla is currently sailing. This development occurred late on Wednesday, as reported by sources on Thursday.
According to Ansa News Agency, Defence Minister Guido Crosetto deployed the Fasan frigate following an attack on the flotilla earlier this week. The Global Sumud Flotilla’s mission is to breach the Israeli blockade and deliver aid to Gaza.
Minister Crosetto addressed the Lower House on Thursday, announcing that he has also dispatched another naval vessel, the Alpino, to the region. This ship is equipped with additional capabilities to offer assistance if required.
