Italian Inflation Holds Steady at 1.3% in December
Rome: Istat said Thursday that Italy’s annual inflation rate was 1.3% in December, steady with respect to November, confirming its preliminary estimate. The national statistics agency reported that its consumer price index rose by 0.1% in December compared to November.
According to Ansa News Agency, the average inflation rate in 2024 was confirmed at 1.0%, a significant decrease from the 5.7% recorded in 2023. Istat also noted that core inflation, which excludes energy and unprocessed food, was recorded at +2.0%, a drop from +5.1% in the previous year. Additionally, inflation excluding energy was reported at +2.1%, down from +5.3% in 2023.
