Italian Industrial Producer Prices Increase by 1.6% in January

Rome: Italian industrial producer prices increased by 1.6% in January on a monthly basis and by 4.4% on an annual basis, compared to +1.1% in December, Istat said on Monday. The national statistics agency attributed the rise to increases in energy prices, especially electricity and gas, on the domestic market.

According to Ansa News Agency, the latest figures indicate a notable upward trend in industrial production costs, primarily fueled by the energy sector. The data highlights the impact of energy prices on the broader industrial pricing framework, with electricity and gas being significant contributors to the overall increase.
