Italian Exports Experience Slight Decline of 0.4% in 2024


Rome: Italian exports dropped by 0.4% in 2024 compared to the previous year, with a decrease of 1.9% in exports to EU countries but an increase of 1.2% in exports to non-EU countries. Imports saw a reduction of 3.9%, with a decrease of 2.2% for EU countries and 6.2% for non-EU countries, as reported by Istat on Monday.

According to Ansa News Agency, the national statistics agency noted that Italy registered a trade surplus of 54.923 billion euros last year, an increase from the 34.011 billion euros recorded in 2023. The agency further stated that the surplus amounted to 104.478 billion euros when energy imports and exports are excluded, up from 99.148 billion euros in the previous year.
