Italian Embassy Hosts ‘Brezza di Tarantella’ Concert in Manama

Manama: In anticipation of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s visit to the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Italian Embassy in Manama, in collaboration with the Bahrain Antiquities and Culture Authority (BACA), organized a concert titled ‘Brezza di Tarantella: a journey through Southern Italy’. This event took place as part of the annually organized international festival ‘Primavera della Cultura’.

According to Ansa News Agency, the embassy highlighted that the concert featured performances by Sara Fiorina Colonna, Mariangela Recchia, Giuseppe Delle Donne, and Tommaso Massarelli at the Cultural Hall in Manama. The event served as a tribute to the traditional dance of Southern Italy, offering a glimpse into the rich choreographic and musical heritage of Italy, particularly focusing on its southern regions such as Apulia.

Andrea Catalano, the Ambassador of Italy in Manama, remarked in his opening speech, “I believe that our folklore and traditional dances have a lot in common with Bahrain, starting from the use of percussion instruments and their aim of celebrating the highlights of traditional life. This is a beautiful tribute to Southern Italy that we intend to promote and make known to our Bahraini friends.”
