Improved Weather Expected as Cyclone Moves Away, but Weekend to Bring Mixed Conditions

Rome: Weather conditions are improving in many regions following severe rain across the north, as low pressure retreats to the northeast. The weekend will bring mixed conditions with sunny weather forecasted in the north and south on Saturday, while instability is expected across the country on Sunday. The start of next week promises sunnier weather nationwide.

According to Ansa News Agency, meteorologist Lorenzo Tedici from ‘iLMeteo.it’ predicts that the cyclone’s center will shift towards Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland in the coming hours. This shift will rapidly improve weather conditions, although caution is advised due to the Mistral wind, which is expected to reach gale force strength in the Tyrrhenian Sea, around Sardinia, and in the Northern Adriatic.

Initially, waves could reach up to 6 meters in the Ligurian Sea before decreasing to 2-3 meters later in the day. Over the weekend, minimum temperatures are anticipated to drop further, especially in the north. Rain is expected to reach Lazio on Saturday afternoon, moving towards the Adriatic regions and intensifying over Campania during the night. On Sunday, instability will likely focus on Friuli Venezia Giulia, Romagna, and Campania.

Tedici anticipates a longer-lasting respite with high pressure returning until at least Wednesday the 29th. The end of October might also bring slightly warmer temperatures. The detailed forecast includes sunny weather in the north and center on Friday, with partly cloudy conditions in the south. Saturday will be sunny in the north, with some rain expected in upper Tuscany and worsening conditions in Lazio. The south will remain stable, but conditions will worsen in Campania by late evening. Sunday will see instability in Friuli Venezia Giulia and Romagna in the north, irregular clouds and rare showers in the center, and instability in Campania with scattered clouds elsewhere in the south. The week is expected to start sunnier, with bad weather anticipated from Thursday the 30th.
