Hungarian Foreign Ministry Urges Nationals to Contact Embassies Amid Israeli-Iran Tensions

Budapest: Hungarians in need of assistance should reach out to Hungary’s embassies in Tel-Aviv and Tehran in the wake of recent regional tensions, stated P©ter Szijj¡rt³, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. The Hungarian foreign ministry is closely monitoring developments and may implement further measures as deemed necessary.

According to About Hungary, Minister Szijj¡rt³ emphasized that the Hungarian government has activated necessary security protocols following the Israeli attack on Iran. The ministry has been in communication with both embassies, ensuring that staff members remain well under the current circumstances. Both embassies have implemented standard security protocols that are typically adopted in such situations.

Hungary maintains consular services in Israel and Iran, with 787 Hungarian nationals in Israel and 14 in Iran having applied for consular protection, as reported by Minister Szijj¡rt³. The situation has led to the closure of airports in both countries. The minister also cautioned that the possibility of further drone or missile strikes remains, which could lead to restrictions on civilian flights in the region. Travelers are advised to take these factors into account before planning any trips to the area in the coming days.
