Giro: Groves Wins Stage Six, Pedersen Stays in Pink
Naples: Australian Kaden Groves, a 26-year-old rider for Alpecin Deceuninck, claimed victory in the sixth stage of the Giro d’Italia. The stage, spanning 227 kilometers from Potenza to Naples, was the longest in this year’s race and concluded with a sprint finish on Thursday.
According to Ansa News Agency, Danish rider Mad Pedersen successfully retained the pink jersey, maintaining his lead in the overall standings. During the stage, conditions were challenging due to rain-slick asphalt, which led to a significant crash about halfway through. As a result, the stage was ‘neutralised,’ and all intermediate points were nullified, with only the final outcome being considered for the standings.
