Forza Italia MEP Martusciello’s Secretary Arrested in Connection with Bribery Investigation

Naples: Lucia Simeone, an assistant to Forza Italia MEP Fulvio Martusciello, was arrested in the Caserta area by Italian State police on Thursday after the Belgian judicial authorities issued a European arrest warrant, sources said.

According to Ansa News Agency, Simeone, who was taken to Naples’ Secondigliano prison, is allegedly involved in a case regarding bribery in the European Parliament allegedly linked to China’s Huawei.

Five people have been charged in connection with that investigation.
