Former Bulgari CEO Francesco Trapani Passes Away at 68

Rome: Former Bulgari boss Francesco Trapani died aged 68 at his home in Rome on Wednesday, his press office said on Thursday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Trapani, a descendant of the Bulgari family, took the helm of the renowned fashion house in 1984 and served as its CEO for three decades. During his tenure, the company, which was founded in 1884, underwent significant diversification and expanded its international presence. Bulgari emerged as a major global player in various sectors of the luxury market, including jewellery, watches, fragrances, leather goods, and hospitality. Under Trapani’s leadership, Bulgari was listed on the Italian Stock Exchange in July 1995 and remained there until 2011, when it became part of the French group LVMH.

After his tenure at Bulgari, Trapani held senior roles at Clessidra, Bluebell Capital Partners, Tiffany, the Tages Group, and VAM Investments. He leaves behind four children: Rebecca, Agostino, Vittoria, and Allegra.
