FolleMente Smashes Box Office on Opening Weekend


Rome: Paolo Genovese’s new romantic comedy, *FolleMente* (a pun in Italian for “crazy mind”), featuring a prominent cast of Italian stars, achieved significant success at the box office during its opening weekend. The film’s strong performance contributed to a 43% increase in overall sales compared to the previous week, as reported by Cinetel figures on Monday.



According to Ansa News Agency, *FolleMente* collected four million euros in Italy over the weekend. It ranked second, trailing just behind *Captain America: Brave New World*, which earned 4.7 million euros. The movie features a star-studded lineup including Edoardo Leo, Pilar Fogliati, Emanuela Fanelli, Maria Chiara Giannetta, Claudia Pandolfi, Vittoria Puccini, Marco Giallini, Maurizio Lastrico, Rocco Papaleo, and Claudio Santamaria.



The third spot at the box office was claimed by the latest installment in the Paddington series, *Paddington in Peru*, which garnered 987,975 euros during its opening weekend.



Overall, Cinetel data indicates that Italian movie ticket sales for the weekend totaled a combined 8 million and 324,000 euros, marking a 21.9% increase compared to the same period last year.
