Flotilla Vows to Press On with 50 Boats Towards Gaza Despite Israeli Threats
Rome: The Global Sumud Flotilla for Gaza announced on Thursday that it will persist in its mission to bring aid to Palestinians in the Gaza Strip with its fleet of 50 boats, despite potential Israeli military action following a recent drone attack. The collective of activists remains undeterred by the threats and is committed to its course.
According to Ansa News Agency, the Flotilla declared there will be no further technical stops for their vessels, emphasizing their determination to continue towards Gaza. The activists expressed unity and resolve at a press conference, stating, “We are aware of the threats, but they only make us more united.” Acknowledging the critical nature of their mission, they maintained an optimistic outlook, asserting, “We will win because we are right.”
The Flotilla’s decision comes in the wake of heightened tensions following a drone incident between Tuesday and Wednesday night. The group’s steadfast approach underscores their commitment to delivering aid and support to the Palestinian people despite the risks involved.
