F1: Ferrari Extends Fred Vasseur’s Contract as Team Principal

Maranello: Ferrari announced that it has extended the contract of Team Principal Fred Vasseur. The French engineer, who took the helm of the prestigious Formula One team in 2023, had faced speculation regarding his job security earlier this year.

According to Ansa News Agency, Vasseur’s position appeared uncertain as Ferrari is unlikely to break their long-standing title drought this season. The team currently trails 268 points behind McLaren in the constructors’ championship, with drivers Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton positioned fifth and sixth in the drivers’ standings.

Ferrari confirmed that Vasseur has agreed to a new “multiple-year contract.” Vasseur expressed his gratitude for Ferrari’s continued trust, viewing the renewal as both a confirmation and a challenge to maintain progress. He emphasized the importance of consistency and determination as the team aims to build on the foundations established over the past 30 months. Vasseur underlined the team’s commitment to meeting expectations and advancing together.
