Expo 2025 Osaka Construction Progress on Track: Vattani

Osaka: Ambassador Mario Vattani, the Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 Osaka, confirmed that construction work for the Universal Exhibition in Japan is proceeding as planned. Vattani discussed the ongoing developments at the Italy Pavilion and the nation’s preparations for the event, which is set to open in three months.

According to Ansa News Agency, Vattani emphasized the significance of these occasions as they provide insights into the logistics of the Expo. The construction of the Italy Pavilion, a large wooden structure designed by Mario Cucinella, has been completed, and efforts are now focused on the Visitor Experience. This exhibition path will showcase Italy’s cultural representation under the Expo’s theme, “Art regenerates life.”

The Japanese media has shown considerable interest in Italy’s participation. A press conference dedicated to Italy attracted significant attention from both Japanese and international media outlets. During the event, details about the Italy Pavilion’s features were shared, including the Farnese Atlas, chosen by the New York Times as one of the top ten attractions at the Expo. Additionally, the conference highlighted a notable work by Tintoretto, portraying a Japanese figure alongside members of the Tensho mission who visited Italy in 1583.

Vattani noted that Expos serve as significant events, drawing a youthful audience that carries a message of hope for the future. The Expo aims to inspire and engage visitors, reinforcing its overarching theme of regeneration and cultural exchange.
