EU’s Team Europe to Return to Libya After Rebuffal
Rome: The European Union’s Team Europe is set to return to Libya following a rebuffal of a delegation that included Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi. The incident was attributed to an apparent procedural glitch earlier this week. This decision was reached by leaders on the sidelines of the second and final day of the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Rome.
According to Ansa News Agency, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, along with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Maltese Prime Minister Robert Abela, have agreed to continue their dialogue with Libya. They have decided to proceed with the Team Europe initiative by sending the delegation back to Libya to continue their visit. This decision underscores the EU’s commitment to maintaining diplomatic relations and addressing issues collaboratively with Libya.
