EU Can’t Dodge Security and Competitiveness Says Meloni
Rome: The European Union can’t dodge security and competitiveness, Premier Giorgia Meloni said in joint statements after a meeting with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson at Palazzo Chigi Wednesday.
According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni and Kristersson emphasized the importance of these issues, stating, “We agree that today more than ever the big issues that Europe cannot afford to elude are the security of citizens and the competitiveness of the production system.”
The leaders further highlighted the need for Europe to strengthen its role within the Atlantic Alliance. They stated, “Europe must have the courage to work concretely to consolidate the European pillar of the Atlantic Alliance with a view to strategic complementarity with the American one.”
