Rome: Education Minister Giuseppe Valditara addressed a ceremony at the presidential Quirinale palace in Rome on Tuesday to mark Holocaust Remembrance Day, emphasizing that Italians must not forget the Fascist regime’s responsibility in the Holocaust. Valditara highlighted the regime’s collaboration in the extermination of Jews and urged the public to maintain a “lively, vigilant, and actual memory.”
According to Ansa News Agency, Valditara also pointed out that approximately 40,000 Jews have left Europe in recent years due to rising anti-Semitism. He stressed that remembering the past is essential to monitor the present and to prevent atrocities like the Holocaust from occurring again.
