Rome: The son-in-law of Fabrizio Piscitelli, a notorious drug-trafficker, right-wing extremist, and prominent Lazio ultra fan known as Diabolik, was among 15 individuals apprehended in a drug-related investigation on Tuesday. Piscitelli was infamously murdered in a Rome park in August 2019, a case that drew significant attention due to his criminal background and controversial affiliations.
According to Ansa News Agency, Daniele Gatta, a 40-year-old from Rome, faces accusations of co-financing a cocaine purchase that traffickers attempted to import from Ecuador in 2021. Gatta’s arrest is part of a broader crackdown on drug networks operating in the region, underscoring the ongoing challenges faced by authorities in curbing illicit drug activities tied to organized crime.
This operation highlights the international dimensions of drug trafficking rings and the complex networks that facilitate the illegal drug trade. The investigation remains ongoing as law enforcement agencies continue to dismantle these operations and bring those responsible to justice.
