Deadly Pepper-Spray Disco Convict Escapes After Graduation Ceremony

Ancona: A man involved in a notorious gang-related incident that resulted in the deaths of six people at a disco near Ancona in December 2018 is now on the run. Last Thursday, Andrea Cavallari, 26, disappeared after attending his graduation ceremony at Bologna University, as reported by judicial sources on Sunday.

According to Ansa News Agency, Cavallari was sentenced to 11 years and 10 months in prison for his role in triggering a deadly stampede at the disco in Corinaldo on December 8, 2018. Originally hailing from a town south of Modena, Cavallari was detained in Bologna’s Dozza Prison before his escape.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the circumstances that allowed Cavallari to evade law enforcement, particularly focusing on how he managed to slip away after being granted temporary release to attend his graduation.
