Dallavalle’s Spectacular Leap Secures Silver in Tokyo

Tokyo: Italy’s new world triple jump silver medallist Andrea Dallavalle expressed his elation after securing second place in the event in Tokyo. Reflecting on his performance on Friday, Dallavalle revealed that he went “all in” on his final jump, achieving what he described as “something great.”

According to Ansa News Agency, Dallavalle, a 24-year-old athlete from Piacenza, was initially skeptical about the measurement of his jump. “I went all in on the last jump: when I saw the measurement, I said something’s wrong, either they got the measurement wrong or I did something great. Luckily, it was the latter,” he remarked.

Dallavalle shared that his remarkable jump was a culmination of years of sacrifices and overcoming setbacks. He also credited his good fortune to a quirky superstition, noting that he carried his lucky charm, Diabolik’s underwear, in his suitcase.
