Cyprus military parade to be held in the presence of the Greek President


The military parade on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the Cyprus Independence Day will take place in Nicosia, on Tuesday.

According to a press release by the Ministry of Defence, President of the Republic Nikos Christodoulides and Greek President Katerina Sakellaropoulou will receive the salute, flanked by Minister of Defence Vassilis Palmas, Greek Deputy Minister of National Defence Ioannis Kefalogiannis and Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas.

The parade will begin with a 21-gun salute. It will start at 11 in the morning on the Iosif Hadjiosif avenue, with the participation of motorized, pedestrian units and aircraft of the National Guard, the Cyprus Police, the Fire Service, the Civil Defence, the Department of Forestry and the Health Services. An aircraft from the United Kingdom will also participate.

ess release says.
