Cyclones Brewing, Frequent Rains But It Won’t Be Cold Across Italy

Rome: A string of cyclones will bring widespread and frequent rainfalls in Italy over the next few days, starting in the northwest Thursday, but it will not be cold.

According to Ansa News Agency, weatherman Lorenzo Tedici, meteorologist of the site www.iLMeteo.it, indicated that a first cyclone from the Bay of Biscay, between France and Spain, is already rapidly descending towards the Mediterranean.

In the next few hours, worsening weather conditions are expected between Liguria and Piedmont, with rain and snow predicted above 1000 meters in the Alps. During the day, showers will also affect Sardinia, accompanied by strong winds at times. However, precipitation will continue primarily in the Northwest, while the rest of Italy will experience dry conditions with clear skies in the South and on the Adriatic side.

Tomorrow, the unstable currents of this first cyclone will merge with another vortex, leading to further rain from the Northwest towards Tuscany, Lazio, and Sardinia. Despite the rain, temperatures will remain +2°C above the average for the period. The first day of February will see rain in the Northwest and Sardinia, with localized showers in the Northeast. A worsening is expected in the South from the afternoon-evening.

On Sunday, the adverse weather will focus on the southern regions, partly affecting the Center, particularly the Adriatic sector. Significant rain is expected in Sardinia, the South, and parts of the Adriatic from Molise to the Lower Marche. In contrast, the North and areas between Tuscany and Upper Lazio will enjoy good weather conditions.

The detailed forecast for the coming days includes:

– Thursday: In the North, precipitation is expected in Piedmont, Valle d’Aosta, and Liguria, especially in the West. In the Center, some showers are predicted in Sardinia. The South will experience sunny weather with some hazy conditions.

– Friday: Scattered rain is expected in the North, particularly in the Northwest. In the Center, showers are anticipated in Sardinia and Upper Tuscany. The South will remain more stable.

– Saturday: The North will see unstable weather, improving by the afternoon. In the Center, scattered showers are predicted in Sardinia. Bad weather is expected to arrive in the South by the afternoon.

– Outlook: A wet Candlemas is anticipated in the South, Sardinia, and the Central Adriatic, while other areas will remain pleasant.
