Cremonese Dismisses Coach Giovanni Stroppa Despite Serie A Promotion
Cremona: Cremonese on Friday sacked coach Giovanni Stroppa despite their recent promotion to Serie A. Former Crotone, Monza and Foggia boss Stroppa, 57, will serve out his contract until June 30, the club announced.
According to Ansa News Agency, Cremonese expressed their gratitude towards Stroppa and his staff on their official website, acknowledging the role they played in the team’s success. The club stated, “The ownership and the club of Grigiorossi sincerely thank the coach and his staff for having brought our colors back to Serie A as a culmination of the work done.”
The club highlighted Stroppa’s professionalism and commitment, praising his ability to lead the team from the start of the 2023/24 season to their promotion on June 1st. The statement continued, “Stroppa and his collaborators with professionalism, commitment and dedication in their daily activities have been able to maximize a journey that began in the 2023/24 season and culminated in the promotion achieved last June 1st.”
