Carmine Gallo, Ex-Cop at Centre of Snooping Case, Dies


Milan: Carmine Gallo, a former top police officer who was under house arrest in relation to a probe into an alleged snooping ring, died of a heart attack at the age of 66 at his home in the province of Milan on Sunday, his lawyer, Antonella Augimeri, said.



According to Ansa News Agency, Gallo was among the alleged ringleaders of a gang that obtained confidential information from national databases on business, political, and showbusiness figures. This group reportedly worked alongside ex-Milan Fair Foundation president Enrico Pazzali.



The snooping activities were allegedly conducted through Pazzali’s agency, Equalize.
