Cabinet Approves Decree on Workplace Safety

Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni’s cabinet on Tuesday approved a decree on workplace safety, which mandates that all contractors and subcontractors must possess a digital construction site badge. This badge serves as an employee identification card equipped with a unique anti-counterfeiting code.

According to Ansa News Agency, the introduction of the digital badge is part of efforts to enhance workplace safety in response to a series of workplace fatalities in Italy. Unions report that three workers per day lose their lives due to workplace accidents. The new measure aims to address these safety concerns and reduce the number of accidents on job sites.
