Boy, 10, Makes Heroic Attempt to Save Father During Heart Attack

Rome: A 10-year-old boy made a desperate attempt to save his 49-year-old father after he suffered a heart attack during their visit to a Roman Catholic shrine in Gorizia, northeastern Italy.

According to Ansa News Agency, the boy quickly dialed emergency services, who provided guidance over the phone on how to perform chest compressions. Despite the boy’s valiant efforts to revive his father, the man tragically passed away in his arms. Local sources confirmed the sequence of events, highlighting the boy’s bravery and determination in the face of an overwhelming situation.

Giulio Trill², the chief of the Friuli regional emergency unit, commended the boy’s actions, stating, “No one could have done anything more (than the boy did).” The incident underscores the importance of emergency response training and the profound impact of quick thinking in critical situations.
