Bottom Side Monza Sack Bocchetti, Nesta Returns

Monza: Serie A’s bottom side Monza announced on Monday that they have sacked coach Salvatore Bocchetti following a 5-1 defeat against Lazio on Sunday. In a bid to change their fortunes, the club has decided to bring back former coach Alessandro Nesta.

According to Ansa News Agency, Monza, owned by the Berlusconi family, was already at the bottom of the league standings when they dismissed former Italy defender Nesta in December. However, the change in coaching failed to improve their situation, as they have only managed to secure three points since Bocchetti took over.

Monza is currently languishing with 13 points from 24 games. The team is eight points away from the fourth-from-bottom position, which marks the safety zone in the league standings. The club’s management hopes that Nesta’s return will help steer Monza away from relegation as they look to improve their performance in the remaining matches of the season.
