Australian Open: Sinner Beats Jarry in Straight Sets
Melbourne: Defending champion Jannik Sinner on Monday beat Chile’s Nicolas Jarry in straight sets to progress at the Australian Open. The world number defeated Jarry 7-6, 7-6, 6-1.
According to Ansa News Agency, Monday marked Sinner’s 15th consecutive major win on hard courts. He became the fourth player since 2000 to win as many Grand Slam hard-court matches in a row, joining Andre Agassi, Roger Federer, and Novak Djokovic.
His last major defeat was in Beijing on October 2 when he lost a match in three sets against Carlos Alcaraz.
