With a budget of more than 314 million forints, a tender for subsidized housing for people with disabilities will be launched, announced the State Secretary of the Ministry of the Interior responsible for care policy, a KDNP politician, on Tuesday in Budapest.
PhilipAttila Flöp said: the government is working to abolish the system in which people with disabilities live in so-called mass institutions. As he said, the government wants to improve the situation of the beneficiaries and supports subsidized housing instead of institutional life, including with this current application.
He added:
the goal is that in ten years, instead of mass institutions, they will be able to provide housing solutions that guarantee a unique quality of life for people with disabilities, who would thus be able to live in apartments for 10-12 people in a family environment.”
Attila Flöp said: the Margit Slachta National Institute of Social Policy has issued a tender with a budget of HUF 314,600,000 for the development of subsidi
zed housing for people with disabilities or psychiatric patients in Budapest. As he said, municipal, church and civil organizations can apply for the tender until October 17.
He reminded her:
so far, more than HUF 50 billion have been spent from Hungarian budget resources and the Széchenyi 2020 Program to create subsidized housing, so today more than 4,700 people with disabilities or receiving psychiatric care can live in a family environment that pays more attention to personal needs instead of mass institutions.”
