Arab Nations Decry Israeli Airstrikes on Iran, Call for Diplomatic Resolution
CAIRO: Arab nations across the Middle East have united in condemning Israel’s recent airstrikes on Iran, raising concerns over regional stability and international law violations. The strikes, which occurred on Saturday, targeted Iranian military facilities and resulted in the deaths of at least two Iranian soldiers.
According to Anadolu Agency, the airstrikes were a response to Iran’s large-scale ballistic missile attack on Israel earlier this month. In reaction, numerous countries in the region, including Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Kuwait, and Qatar, issued statements denouncing the attacks as a flagrant breach of Iranian sovereignty and international law.
Oman’s Foreign Ministry described the airstrikes as a “blatant violation” of Iran’s sovereignty, warning that such actions could exacerbate violence and undermine diplomatic efforts. The ministry urged the international community to take decisive measures to halt the aggression.
Qatar’s Foreign Ministry
expressed deep concern over the potential repercussions of the escalation, calling for restraint and a focus on dialogue to prevent further destabilization. Similarly, Jordan’s Foreign Ministry condemned the strikes, with spokesman Sufyan Qudah emphasizing the need for the international community to act and impose a cessation of Israeli aggression as a step toward de-escalation.
Kuwait also voiced strong opposition to the Israeli actions, criticizing the disregard for regional security and international law principles. The Kuwaiti Foreign Ministry called on the United Nations Security Council to intervene and halt actions threatening regional stability.
Saudi Arabia reiterated its condemnation, urging all parties to exercise maximum restraint and lessen tensions. The United Arab Emirates echoed these sentiments, underscoring the importance of dialogue and adherence to international law to address the situation.

or an immediate cease-fire, reaffirming Iraq’s stance against actions that could incite further instability. Egypt, monitoring the tensions closely, also condemned actions threatening regional security and called for an urgent cease-fire in Gaza and Lebanon.
Lebanon’s Foreign Ministry condemned the airstrikes as a significant threat to regional and international peace, urging international institutions to take action against the military escalation.
The White House has warned Tehran of consequences should it retaliate, emphasizing the need to end direct exchanges of fire. Iranian military officials have previously cautioned that any attack from Israel would be met with a severe response.
