Ambassador Gori at ‘Wine Vision by Open Balkan’ Fair Highlights Italian Wine Excellence

Belgrade: The Ambassador of Italy to Serbia, Luca Gori, attended the opening of the “Wine Vision by Open Balkan” Fair in Belgrade, inaugurated by the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. The event featured a significant Italian presence, showcasing the country’s wine excellence.

According to Ansa News Agency, the ambassador visited the Italian pavilion, which hosted 63 Italian wineries, curated by Ice and VeronaFiere. This pavilion offered an opportunity for attendees to explore “Made in Italy” wine, featuring offerings from regions such as Veneto, Puglia, Sardinia, Friuli Venezia Giulia, Tuscany, and Abruzzo. The event included six master classes organized in collaboration with the Serbian Sommelier Association, coinciding with the Week of Italian Cuisine in the World.

“Italy confirms itself as the leading European supplier of wine to Serbia and continues to strengthen its presence in the local market. In the first nine months of 2025, we recorded a growth of Italian exports close to 13 percent,” stated Antonio Ventresca, director of the Ice office in Belgrade.

Ambassador Gori noted the high appreciation for Italian wines in Serbia, as evidenced by export values reaching 6.04 million euros in the first nine months of 2025, surpassing the same period in 2024.
