3 ‘Extremely Dangerous’ Camorristi Nabbed in Spain

Marbella: Spanish police on Sunday arrested three “extremely dangerous” Camorristi in Marbella in southern Spain, the Italian interior ministry said. Ciro Marigliano, 24, was taken into custody on charges of attempted murder while his 67-year-old grandfather, Stanislao Marigliano, and 48-year-old uncle, Michele Sannino, were arrested on suspicion of international drug trafficking and other mafia offenses. They were all on the run from recent mafia convictions.

According to Ansa News Agency, the arrests were hailed as a significant victory against organized crime by Italian Interior Minister Matteo Piantedosi. He emphasized that the operation was the result of meticulous investigative work and exceptional cooperation between the State Police and the Policia Nacional.

The Camorra, a notorious mafia organization based in Campania, is considered Italy’s third most influential mafia, following Calabria’s ‘Ndrangheta and Sicily’s Cosa Nostra. The apprehension of the fugitives marks a critical step in the ongoing efforts to combat mafia activities across international borders.
