15-Year-Old Girl Dies in Tragic Rock Climbing Incident in Northern Italy

Belluno: A 15-year-old girl tragically lost her life on Tuesday after falling from a rock face near Belluno in northern Italy while attempting to take a photo.

According to Ansa News Agency, the incident also left another 15-year-old girl injured at Cesiomaggiore when the rock face collapsed as she and two friends, all the same age, climbed it to capture a photograph. The tragic event took place outside the town of Busche, located on the banks of the Piave River.

Reconstructions of the incident indicate that the three girls were climbing a slope when it unexpectedly gave way. One of the girls fell to the ground and was fatally crushed by a large falling rock, resulting in her instantaneous death. The third girl involved in the incident was unharmed.

Emergency responders from Suem 118 and Carabinieri were quickly on the scene to provide assistance and investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic accident.
