10 Billion Euros Pledged at Ukraine Recovery Conference in Rome

Rome: Premier Giorgia Meloni announced that pledges exceeding 10 billion euros have been made for Ukraine’s reconstruction during the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Rome. Meloni emphasized that investing in Ukraine is akin to investing in the future of all participating nations.

According to Ansa News Agency, Meloni highlighted the collaborative effort of nations, international organizations, financial institutions, local authorities, the business sector, and civil society in achieving this substantial commitment. She expressed satisfaction with the conference’s response, noting the significance of the broad and high-level participation.

Meloni stressed that the conference sends a vital message globally, uniting participants towards a common goal of envisioning a rebuilt, free, and prosperous Ukraine. She underscored the importance of assisting Ukraine not only in its defense but also in reconstructing essential infrastructure such as roads, bridges, schools, churches, and hospitals.

In her address, Meloni highlighted the need to prevent any benefits of the recovery effort from reaching Russia. She pointed out the importance of excluding entities that supported the Russian war machine from reconstruction projects, aligning with the G7 finance ministers’ declaration.
